We are pleased to inform you that Russia is slowly opening up to international travel, after opening three destinations in August (Turkey, Tanzania and the UK), another three destinations will open on September 7th, including Egypt, the Maldives and UAE, which are all popular winter destinations for Russians. It was also announced in the news that Greece will allow up to 500 Russians per week to visit Greece, but this has not yet been confirmed by the Russian government.
There was no change in the agreement with the Schengen countries, due to the stubbornly high Covid-19 infection rates, which have reduced substantially since May, but still are above the permitted numbers to allow entry to the EU. The good news is however, that the IMF believes the Russian economy has not been as badly affected as many other countries in Europe and it appears that Russia is due to become the 5th most important economy in the world, so the recovery from Covid-19 might be faster from Russia than other countries.
