UTair launches flights to Berlin, Vienna and Munich.
UTair launched daily flights from Moscow's Vnukovo airport to Munich as of April, it will also open flights to Berlin and Vienna from the 1st of June. The cheapest one-way ticket price for all three directions is 98 Euro.
The demand for additional services on airlines in Russia has increased more than two times.
Last year Russian travellers booked additional services for air travel, by 129% more than in 2015, according to a study by Amadeus. The most popular additional service was payment to take a second piece of luggage which was chosen by 58% of passengers. Other popular services were: pre-selection of seats (16.3 percent), transportation of animals (5.8%) and food (3.1 percent). The biggest percentage of additional services were sold on "Ural airlines"flights.
Sheremetyevo is Europe’s best airport for quality of service.
At the end of 2016, Sheremetyevo international airport took the first place in Europe for quality of services for travelers according to a research by ASQ (Airport Service Quality) of the Airports Council International. The airport also took 9th place in terms of passenger traffic volume between 25 and 40 million people per year and took ninth place.
In the ASQ research is based on passengers feedback and includes a survey of more than half a million respondents, who provide their feedbacks in 41 languages in 84 countries, and share their views on 34 key performance indicators of the airport, including accessibility, check-in, security screening, toilets, shops, restaurants and the overall atmosphere.
Garuda will launch flights from Moscow to Jakarta
The Indonesian National carrier Garuda plans to launch flights from Jakarta to Moscow in August, 2017. The Airbus will operate them three times a week. According to the Director of Garuda airlines Arif Wibowo, the launch of new flights is expected to increase the number of Russian tourists in Indonesia substantially by making the destination more accessible. In the first half of 2016 the number of tourists to Jakarta from Russia has increased by 14%.
Sheremetyevo: In January the number of tourists exceeded 1.5 million
Sheremetyevo airport has a total number of passengers on international airlines of 1.5 million this January, which is 20% increase on the previous year. The largest passenger flows were recorded on routes to Paris, Prague, Tel Aviv, Bangkok and Amsterdam. In January Sheremetyevo has serviced a total of 2.7 million, a growth of 19% growth. Aeroflot, Nordwind Airlines, Air France, Royal Flight, Air Astana and KLM provided the greatest increase in passenger volumeЂ Back to journal
